The element of Earth helps us surrender our mind to our body, feel into our deep rooted foundation and trust our inner wisdom. 

The Earth element teaches us that we must create a strong foundation in order to build sustainably. It reminds us that when things feel unstable, we can always connect back to ground beneath our feet, breathe deep and surrender our energy to its unconditional support. The unwavering depth, strength and abundance that the Earth holds is a direct reflection of the deep, inner wisdom that we hold within ourselves.

Balancing Your Earth Element Through Your Body, Mind and Energy

Your Earth Body needs light, spicy, bitter foods for balancing. Enjoy fruits like lemons, limes, pears, apples, berries, pomegranates, and cranberries. Steam or roast veggies in minimal oils. Suggested vegetables include artichokes, asparagus, peas, leafy greens, spinach, and sprouts. Your best grains are quinoa, barley, and millet. Legumes include chickpeas and lentils. Avoid excessive dairy, pasta and breads to keep yourself from feeling lethargic. Beneficial oils are flaxseed, extra virgin olive, and ghee. Garlic, ginger, cayenne, and black pepper will stimulate your palette and aid digestion. Body treatments such as infrared saunas, steam rooms, invigorating scrubs, and massages are best.

Your Earth Mind needs to balance its structured nature through liberating practices such as starting your day with movement for mental stimulation or releasing attachments through the practice of meditation  – letting go of possessions, people and thoughts that no longer serve you. Create a minimalist yet luxurious environment in your home or office. Lean on your community to keep your energy in motion as you create accountability and accomplish your goals.
